Linda Andersson

Linda was awarded Degree of Master of Arts with Major in General Linguistic with Specialization in Computation Linguistics on 13 May 2009. The title of her Master Thesis was A Vector Space analysis of Swedish patent claims, does decompounding help? The next step for Linda is to write a PhD dissertation at Information Retrieval Facility Society in collaboration with the Technical University of Vienna. The topic will be Linguistic Indexing and Analysis for Patent Search -A cross-linguistic study. In her dissertation she will explore an alternative way to capture the concept of a patent by investigating logic or semi logic features of expression in the patent genre. Linda began her study in Education in Innovation, Design and Engineering in 1998 at Mälardalens University/College. During the years Linda has developed an interest for different techniques used in various full-text Information Retrieval systems. The following years Linda turned her attention to General Linguistic and Computational Linguistic at Stockholm University, followed by courses Language Engineering and Computer Science at Royal Institute of Technology. During this time Linda also attended Library Science and Information Science at Uppsala University. In 1999 Linda was awarded finalist price in the Venture Cup at Mälardalens University/College for her idea of family shared electronic almanacs.
