KnowRight focuses on the interaction between Intellectual Property Rights, Information Rights, ethical issues, civil society and information technology.
Unusual for an intellectual property conference, it originates from a computing society and was an early mark for the necessary change in IP law due to new technologies in the context of the Information Society and a progressively electronic environment. Therefore, KnowRight is best suited to be a forum between informatics, IP lawyers, lobbyists, managers, administrators and citizens in the knowledge economy. IP law and data protection law have to somehow balance contradictory expectations of business and civil society.
