All IRF Conference and Symposium participants were invited to our welcome reception, which - in cooperation with the Mayor's office  - was held in the Vienna City Hall. As a city with ambitions to host innovative research and industry, Vienna offers many opportunities for cutting-edge research projects and institutions. The City Hall is one of the most splendid amongst the numerous monumental buildings along Vienna's Ringstrasse. Designed by Friedrich Schmidt (1825-1891), it was built between 1872 and 1883 in gothical style, with a tower similar to gothic cathedrals. 

How to get there by public transport

• Use the streetcar lines 1, 2, D and exit at the stop "Burgtheater"
• Use the underground line U2 and exit at the stop "Rathaus"
